Maxx Monopoli, better known as The Stunned Guys, has announced he will be ending his DJ career. After 26 years filled with over 200 tracks and countless of bookings, 2019 will be the final DJ year for the Italian Traxtorm Records founder.

No matter the style: they’ve been there in the real early days of hardcore, in happy hardcore times, when it became darkcore, and in the whole new millenium period. We’re talking about more than 200 tracks and remixes released as The Stunned Guys, among which the well-known ‘Deep Impact’, ‘Fuckin’ sweat’, Beats Time’, and the various editions of The Stunned Guys’ Rewinds albums. Furthermore you were able to enjoy The Stunned Guys as a part of The Oldschool Commanders and Traxtorm Legends, at countless of bookings devided over 26 years – of which Giangy of course also was a part of the act until 2009.

“I’ve had the privilege of exploring and developing the sound of the hardcore scene for 26 years, I’ve had the chance to perform all over the world, always with the same energy and passion of the first time, and always supported and driven by the amazing hardcore crowd, which is the only and real heart of the scene I love.”

Even though The Stunned Guys is ending his DJ career, he will remain to play a big role within  the hardcore scene. The label founder will continue to help and advise new artists, and contribute to creative projects.

“The time has come to make a step back to give space to the young, amazing artists who I’m proud to work with. They are the ones who will take the Hardcore Italia movement (which I proudly founded) to the next, bigger level. Many of you know that I’ve always been “behind the scenes” helping new artists, advising and creating new ideas: well, this step back will allow me to work in the hardcore scene with energy and passion, even more than before.”

“I will miss the stage and I know I will miss you all, but this is the right decision”

2019 will be the final year you’ll be able to enjoy a set of The Stunned Guys. Maxx will still perform at Defqon.1 Festival, Karma Outdoor, Hard Island and Decibel outdoor. According to the artist, there might even be a goodbye party. You can read the entire statement from The Stunned Guys down below.

For now we would like to thank The Stunned Guys for everything he has done for the scene, and will continue to do so. Maxx is also receiving loads of reactions and love from the fans: “Hardcore will never die.”
