‘Thunderdome Never Dies – The Full Story’ holds the biggest premiere ever in Utrecht

Yesterday, ‘Thunderdome Never Dies – The Full Story’ had its premiere – and archived the biggest premiere ever held in Utrecht. The 7 cinema halls were fully booked: 1800 visitors came to see the documentary for the very first time.

Fans had to wait patiently, but yesterday the time had come: the Thunderdome documentary could be seen for the very first time during the premiere evening in Utrecht. The entrance hall was fully packed before the movie started and the visitors had turned up fitting to the given dresscode “gabber chic”: Australians combined with High Heels, Australians combined with suits and Nikes and of course a lot of Thunderdome merchandise.

Not only the promised black carpet was there with white Thunderdome logos on it. DJ Promo, who’s responsible for the soundtrack of the documentary, played a pre-party set, what many gabbers took as the chance for a good hak. After the movie, visitors shared their fun experience on socials: “It was aweseome, well done! Wonderful goosebump moments! Thunderdome will never die!”“It was very cool. Top that there was a pre-party. Top, DJ Promo and DJ Waxweazle!” and “It was awesome. In 25 years we’ll be there again… eye to eye with our hardcore heros”, are some of the reactions.

The premiere evening also catched the attention of the Dutch media: Panorama, RTL Boulevard and Telegraaf featured Thunderdome’s movie in articles, highlighting ‘Thunderdome Never Dies’ hold the biggest premiere ever in Utrecht. In the documentary, pioneers like François Maas, the project manager of Thunderdome, and artists like DJ PROMO, The Prophet and DJ DROKZ, as well as fans from then and now get to speak about their view on the old to the upcoming days of the iconic hardcore brand.

Fans, who haven’t seen the movie yet, don’t have to wait much longer. Tomorrow, 14th November 2019, ‘Thunderdome Never Dies – The Full Story’ will officially be out in Dutch cinemas. Check out the socials of the documentary for more information.
