The Stunned Guys stopt zijn DJ carrière: “Hardcore will never die”

Maxx Monopoli, beter bekend als The Stunned Guys, heeft aangekondigd een punt te zetten achter zijn DJ carrière. Na 26 jaar gevuld met meer dan 200 tracks en talloze optredens, wordt 2019 het laatste DJ jaar voor de Italiaanse Traxtorm Records oprichter. 

Van happy hardcore, tot darkcore en millennium: meer dan 200 tracks staan op de naam van de Traxtorm labelbaas, waaronder de welbekende ‘Deep Impact’, ‘Fuckin’ sweat’, ‘Beats Time’, én de verschillende edities van The Stunned Guys’ Rewinds albums. Daarnaast kon je genieten van The Stunned Guys als onderdeel van The Oldschool Commanders en Traxtorm Legends, op talloze boekingen verdeeld over 26 mooie jaren – waarvan tot 2009 natuurlijk ook Giangy deel uitmaakte van de act.

“I’ve had the privilege of exploring and developing the sound of the hardcore scene for 26 years, I’ve had the chance to perform all over the world, always with the same energy and passion of the first time, and always supported and driven by the amazing hardcore crowd, which is the only and real heart of the scene I love.”

Hoewel The Stunned Guys een einde maakt aan zijn DJ carrière, zal hij achter de schermen een groot onderdeel uit blijven maken van de hardcore scene. De label oprichter blijft nieuwe artiesten helpen en adviseren, en zal ook blijven meewerken aan creatieve projecten.

“The time has come to make a step back to give space to the young, amazing artists who I’m proud to work with. They are the ones who will take the Hardcore Italia movement (which I proudly founded) to the next, bigger level. Many of you know that I’ve always been “behind the scenes” helping new artists, advising and creating new ideas: well, this step back will allow me to work in the hardcore scene with energy and passion, even more than before.”

“I will miss the stage and I know I will miss you all, but this is the right decision”

2019 wordt dus het allerlaatste jaar waarin je kan genieten van een hardcore set van The Stunned Guys. Maxx staat nog gepland om te draaien op Defqon.1 Festival, Karma Outdoor, Hard Island en Decibel outdoor; wellicht komt er zelfs nog een afscheidsfeest volgens de artiest. Voor nu willen we The Stunned Guys natuurlijk ontzettend bedanken voor alles wat hij voor de hardcore scene heeft betekend, en nog zal blijven betekenen. Ook aan de reacties en liefde van fans ontbreekt het zeker niet: “Hardcore will never die.”
